Your guests' data is locked. Even from us.
Owners call and ask, "Sir, what's my occupancy?" We have to say we don't know. Guest data in Kamer is encrypted with a key only the owner holds. Siva built it that way on purpose, and this page is him explaining why.
Six questions, six straight answers
"Where is my data? On the phone?"
"No. Nothing lives on the phone. Everything is on AWS and Google Cloud, in the back end. The phone is a window. Lose the phone, buy a new phone, log in with your OTP, and everything is there. There is nothing on the device to steal."
"Can you see my guests?"
"No, and this is the part people don't believe. We use standard encryption. Your customer data is encrypted and only you can decrypt it. We know how many customers we have. We don't know who your guests are, where they're from, or what you collected last month. When an owner asks me his occupancy, I genuinely can't tell him."
"What about Aadhaar? Is that legal to store?"
"KYC goes through DigiLocker, the government's own procedure. Once the DigiLocker flow completes, we are legally allowed to store the standard Aadhaar record. Every protocol is followed. We don't take a photo of a card and keep it in a folder."
"My manager has my phone half the day. Then what?"
"Two things. First, the app has its own lock, face or pattern, on top of the phone lock. Someone can have your phone in their hand at the bus stand and still not open Kamer. Second, your manager doesn't use your login. He has his own, with only the buttons you unlocked."
"Can a manager download my guest list and walk out?"
"Not unless you gave him that permission. Manager A can collect rent. Manager B can add guests. Neither can export anything you haven't unlocked. Compared to a register, where whoever holds the book holds everything, this is the whole point."
"What if Kamer shuts down tomorrow?"
"Your data is yours. Every report exports to PDF or Excel today, any day, without asking us. There is no lock-in. We'd rather earn the renewal."
Owner, partner, manager, guest
Same app. Different keys. Nothing leaks sideways.
Every partner is an owner: full reports, every rupee, every building. Every manager is a set of permissions you chose: this one collects rent, that one adds guests, neither sees the other's buttons. Every guest sees only their own bed, bills and KYC in Kamer Stay.

What actually happens
- Phone gone. Whoever has it sees a locked phone. If they get past that, they see a locked app. Face or pattern, yours.
- You buy a new phone. Install Kamer. Enter your number. OTP arrives.
- Everything is back. Every building, every bed, every advance, exactly as you left it. Nothing was on the old phone to lose.
- Old device. Its session is gone the moment you log in elsewhere.
